Leavin' On a Jet Plane

On May 3rd, we embarked on our adventure. First was the airplane ride - a first for Benjamin (and what a way to kick off a first than with a coast-to-coast, multi-transfer flight). I've already written all about that part of the trip, but here are some of the calmer, quiet times we experienced on the SIX different jets we used in our travels.

"Mt. Trashmore"

This was a huge city park that was built on an old dump. As we passed, Tiffany and Trevor pointed out these large, white tubes, fenced off from public access, which allowed the trash gases to escape safely. Kind of weird, but it was actually a wonderful park and we picked a gorgeous day for this outing. Benjamin was in hog heaven because of the swings, the park toys, the dogs and the huge grassy hill where he could run free. It was truly a day of pure Benjamin Bliss.

Hello, Atlantic!

I love the ocean, and, as it soon became quite apparent, Benjamin does too. He loved running down the boardwalk, rolling in the sand and playing with Tiff's boys, Ray & Jack. But most of all, this boy LOVES water. As in, if I had let go of my 'death grip' on his wrist, he would have swam to Europe! As it was, I had to pull him out of the chilly surf for fear he would chatter his teeth right out of his mouth!

Because of Tiff's family reunion, we decided to stay the last night in a hotel. It was fun to sprawl out on the king size bed, crank up the A/C, catch some cartoons and take a fun dip in the pool before we left the next morning.

We're Back!

After a very long day of travel, Benjamin and I were equally wiped out. Mark & Linda picked us up, providing essential post-travel rejuvenators, such as red licorice, fun conversation and bottled water. Below is a slightly sunburned, very tired little boy, who just finished the last piece of his licorice. The various funny faces he made cracked me up!
